Mellow Yellow

Whether it feels like fall or not, I wanted to bring out my bright yellow wool sweater. This was a sweet find of mine from a local thrift store. It certainly kept me comfortable today as it is nice and warm out, but I'm always freezing indoors as businesses in Florida tend to blast their air conditioners.

Tomorrow is my birthday! I don't really know how I feel about turning 27, but I'm excited. There have been many positive changes in my life these past couple of months, so I look towards the future in anticipation.

What I wore:
Sweater - thrifted
Jean Shorts - Hudson UK
Shoes - Christian Louboutin
Bag - Chanel
Sunglasses - Gucci

I hope you've all had a fantastic day!

October Hellos

I can't believe how much time I let slip away between the last time that I had posted. It's as if my life just turned in another direction and I forgot about something that had meant so much to me. Maybe because deep down inside I felt like I had to. It all became too superficial. I lost that sparkle that I had when I used to post with meaning. It just wasn't fun anymore and my heart was broken. My passion turned against me.

Well, I can't sit back any longer and watch the dust collect upon my keyboard. Here we go...the way I want it to be.

October in Florida is no different than the summer. Hot, humid, and sticky. With my birthday approaching on Monday, I'm feeling blessing by having another year to spend surrounded by the most special people. Watching my precious son grow up a happy boy, smiling from ear to ear.

Next weekend is our trip to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World. If you've ever been during this time of the year, do share some of the details. We've become Disney obsessed and creep over to Orlando every chance that we get, but we've never been for the fall festivities and it will be our first time attending the party. Getting that annual pass was the best decision we've ever made. We were sure to be bored of Disney World after a few visits but the magic happens in a special new way every time we go.

Happy Hauntings!

Pure Argan Oil

Pictured: 100% pure Argan oil (left), pure Almond oil (right).

If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you may have noticed that I've ventured into the world of imported Argan oil and Almond oil goods. I got my hands on the purest form of Argan oil, imported directly from Morocco by my brother, who though of me when he was introduced to the oil. He knows how particular I am about my hair and its health. I tried the oil and couldn't believe the immediate results, even after using it for just one time.  There are no additives such as perfumes or dilutions, so it's as pure as it gets!

The product comes in a small spritz bottle, so application was less of a mess in comparison to the packaging of other Argan/Moroccan oil products. I only needed two pumps to get enough oil in my hair to get the results that I wanted.  I applied it to my damp hair, waited about 20 minutes, and then washed it out as I usually would.

After blow drying, which is quite damaging to hair, my hair maintained a beautiful glossy finish, and felt much healthier in a sense that my ends looked mended and healed, and my hair felt full of life. No damaged hair crunchiness as I usually would hear if I scrunched my hair with my fingers close to my ear.

I have become so passionate about this product that I want to share it with my readers. I believe everyone should take care of their hair and prevent it from any further damage by repairing it, especially if its just as simple as applying an oil twice a week before a shower.

Besides hair, Argan oil has plenty of other benefits. Mixed with a facial moisturizer Argan oil acts as a wonderful anti-aging product, erasing fine lines over time naturally. Argan oil is safe for use with all skin types, even severely acne prone skin, as it naturally has unique fatty acid properties that actually balances the sebum production and heals acne!

Argan oil can also double as a makeup remover! I like to apply a few drops to a warm facial towel, put it on my face and wait for about a minute or two. Then I massage my face with the towel and wipe all the makeup off, leaving my skin feeling so refreshed, and my skin moisturized and youthful.

Hello YouTube...

I have finally started a new YouTube account under the URL of www.YouTube.com/KatrinaLomidze1.  I'll be filming my first video which will be a quick intro along with a number of health and beauty products that I have been very attached to lately. I'm so glad to finally be making videos again and can't wait to upload my first one. I just want to thank those of you that have been so patient with me.  My channel will feature makeup tutorials, reviews, fashion hauls, beauty hauls, as well as "day-in-the-life" videos. I'm super excited!

Anywhooo, these are a couple of photos from today. I began practicing and brushing up on some of my makeup skills. You get rusty after a while. It's been quite some time since I've sat down and done my makeup properly, and comfortably, without being in a rush to get out the door.  I've played around with some video lighting and I think I've got it! I really can't wait to get this show on the road.

Can't wait!!!

LOTD & Bistro Table Setting

I felt daring today and went for a smokey mint look on my eyes. I used colors from my Sedona Lace 120 1st Edition palette. It was nice to wear such a bold eyeshadow color for a change.

Jerrid, J.J., and I just for back from Disney World. We went to meet up with Jerrid's cousin's that were on their family vacation. We joined them at Disney for a couple of days. While we were there we picked up some Florida resident annual passes so we will be heading up to Disney a lot more.  J.J. definitely gave us the puppy eyes when it came down to deciding whether or not we should get the passes...and we couldn't say no.

I got a bistro table for what I thought would be a great casual dining area in our house.  I headed over to Pier 1 to pick up some cute table settings and brought home some awesome items from their huge sale.  I left with 4 napkins, 4 napkin rings, and 4 woven placemats for under $25! I brought home some beige dinner and salad plates from Home Goods (not pictured) along with 4 gorgeous tall Bohemian crystal Ralph Lauren glasses.

I threw three sunflowers in a tall vase half way filled with Tropical Water Balls. Tropical Water Balls are amazing and keep the plants hydrated while making the centerpiece look so chic. You can find out more information about them and buy them at TropicalWaterBalls.com. I love my bistro table and think it is so perfectly set up for the summer!

Summer Dew

I love summer! This morning, after sitting on the patio and watching the sun come up and bring a twinkle to the dewy grass, I was inspired to go to for morning dew makeup look using my Sedona Lace 88 metals palette.  I wore my new MAC lipstick "Kinda Sexy" which I find to be the perfect deep natural pink. The lipstick is opaque and glides on with a shine.

Tomorrow will be all about a DIY project to create my American flag shorts for the fourth of July. I'm heading out bright and early to grab fabric paints, fabric spray paints, foam brushes, painters tape, and star stencils to get the job done. I can't wait and will be sure to photograph my every step so that I can share it all with my readers.

Makeup Used:

Face:
Smashbox Photofinish Primer
CoverGirl Mousse Foundation - "Natural Tan"

Cheeks:
MAC "Springsheen" blush

Eyes:
4 colors used from Sedona Lace 88 metals palette.
MAC "Carbon" eyeshadow used as liner on upper and lower lash line.
L'Oreal Million Lashes Mascara

Lips:
MAC :Subculture" lipliner
MAC "Kinda Sexy" lipstick.

Essie Tour De Finance & Bikini So Teeny

I've gone through two adorable Essie nail polish colors this week - Bikini So Teeny, and Tour De Finance. I find that Essie really stepped up their game with these two colors.  They came on so creamy and dried quickly, especially Tour De Finance.

Tour De Finance

This color is from the Essie Spring 2012 Collection and is a medium pink with blue micro-shimmer finish. I found it to be very quick drying and had a good chip resistance. It looked freshly painted for quite a while, probably going onto 6 days. Tour De Finance is a bright and fun color and looks awesome on summer tan skin.

Bikini So Teeny

Bikini so Teeny is an adorable cornflower blue with a faint hint of sparkle. The color isn't as opaque as I would have liked, so to get great coverage you will need to be patient and go for 3 to 4 coats. The blue does resemble more of a periwinkle in my opinion, but its such a great color for summer. Its definitely one of my favorites, along with yellow, and mint.

Summer Fashion Inspiration

Summer is here and along with it comes the bright colors, and light airy attire. Summer is also the time to brighten up couches with fun pillows, set the table with bright water pitchers and colorful place settings. I've been on a binge redecorating our home with a summer touch, and I can't wait to blog about the adorable things I found at Pier1 and ZGallerie.

As far as fashion goes, I've set up three inspiration boards for outfits that I wish to put together for this summer.  I want to go for something fun, yet sophisticated and sometimes with a touch of metallics like gold or silver.

To celebrate our country's independence, I want to find a great pair of stars & stripes denim shorts. I'll be checking the usual spots, but if I can't find them, it's good to know that many DIY instructions are available online from the craftiest trendsetters, and they seem fairly easy to make.

Stay inspired!

Salt Life

I've been getting out, trying out new things to do in my free time to keep me active. I fell in love with the ocean all over again this summer and have realized how much of a workout it can be to get out on the waves. I tried out paddle boarding for the first tim this weekend and it was an entire body workout. I am so sore all over, but can't wait to get back out there on my board. It was so tough at first to keep my balance and the waves were pretty choppy (as opposed to how calm it may appear in the photograph). I eventually did stand up and the experience was so exhilarating. It's a rush to feel the waves sweep under your board and paddle your way around on the top of the wet Earth. Unreal!

If you follow me on Instagram you probably remember when I posted this photo from my paddle boarding weekend.

I can't imagine any place that makes me feel the way the beach does. It was a no brainer to have our wedding take place there. October 2012 baby!

Dove Clear Tone Skin Renew Deodorant Review

With summer among us, its time to bring out the tank tops and put leave the long sleeves behind. Dove's Clear Tone Skin Renew deodorant is the first of its kind designed to reduce underarm dark marks caused by shaving. I'm all for a deodorant that can keep me dry and keep my underarms at their natural tone.

I gave Dove Clear Tone a try and I was very satisfied with the results. It's not like it takes an elongated period of time to see the results, in fact I found to see positive results in my underarm skin tone in as little as 3 days. Dove has created a unique formula, made with calendula and sunflower seed extracts, which moisturize to accelerate the natural skin renewal process, helping to visibly reduce dark marks and even tone with regular use over time, while providing 24-hour odor and wetness protection.

I also gave the clinical protection deodorant a try. This formula is designed to provide you with prescription strength wetness protection. This formula kills two birds with one stone, so you can be completely confident with your freshness, and underarm skin tone.

I must add that I love the scent of the Clear Tone line. Its very fresh and good enough to go perfume free on some of those errand running days. The clear tone line leaves no residue on clothing and does not flake. I've given these products a go for the past month, trying to find their flaw, but I have yet to do so.  I'm s happy camper, and I've said bye-bye to dark marks under my arms!

Happy Birthday to J.J.!

Three years ago today, Jerrid and I were blessed with the little boy that would change our lives for the better, forever.  I am thankful everyday for the joy, pride, and happiness that our little prince brings to us, and there is nothing on this Earth that I wouldn't do for him.

J.J. is obsessing over everything fire truck, ambulance, police car, race car...etc, but especially fire trucks, so we decided to go with a fire truck themed birthday. He got a huge fire truck toy, along with many other fire trucks of various sizes. We have been in contact with our local fire department and we will take J.J. down there to visit and see a real life fire truck up-close and personal sometime next week. He will love it!

Playing with his new fire truck!

I want cake!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday my little prince!

Mommy and daddy loves you so much and we are so proud of you!

Summer Daze

Just a quick photo of my makeup, using Sedona Lace 88 metals eyeshadow palette, and my go-to lipstick, MAC "Hue". I've been obsessing over anything pink or coral this summer and can't wait to share some more of my outfits posts wearing these colors!

Jerrid and I have had an interesting day today. We headed off to the beach and when we noticed the watersports rental booth we started to get some ideas. We decided to hop on a jet ski since Jerrid has never had the chance to ride one, despite living here in South Florida now for 3 years.  We had a blast and plan to do it more often. We even decided to have a beach day and rent jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, and much more with our friends, family, and wedding party in October a few days before our wedding to make fun memories with the ones we love.

I hope you all have an amazing Memorial Day!
