iCandy

A couple of weeks ago, before his book shoot with Scott Kelby, Jerrid shot with a well known local photographer; Luis Rafael. Luis is a talented guy with an eye for photography, editing, hair, and makeup...he does it all! Jerrid had a test shoot with him and is planning his next shoot for the following weeks.

Here is the final product of the test shoot.

Go Jerrid!

Look into your Heart

Excuse my lack of posts lately. It's constantly on my mind to update, but I just haven't been up to it.

First off, my dad's been in the hospital for the past week and is finally home. He's doing great, just had a small clot in his arm which was removed. No matter what the cause, a family member in the hospital is a big deal. I've been worried sick about him and couldn't really think about anything else during his stay there.

Secondly, I've been struck with this horrible cold again. I haven't felt like doing anything! I want to lay in bed all day, but thats impossible between my baby and work, so I don't really get enough rest to feel better....but now I'm back!

Don't mind the ridiculous photos...

I've got a couple of posts lined up, it's just a matter of taking the time for the photos. I was sent some clothes from my sponosor at www.HotMiamiStyles.com and will have the clothing displayed for you in a bit. I found a really cool spot to take some pictures of me in the outfits out in Delray by some train tracks, but the weather has been too cold, and I've gotten sick.

Do check out the Hot Miami Styles website for some hot clothing and remember to use code: KATRINA for free shipping!

I also have more fashion posts coming up. I want to start putting up photos on LookBook.nu so I will have outfit of the day posts.

I will also be guest blogging at www.Fashionista514.com. Check out the site and look out for my beauty reviews coming up real soon!

Project One-a-Day

The best way to learn how to take photographs is to get out there and take them. I assigned myself to a little project titled; Project One-a-Day, in which I would take at least one picture with my camera every day. There is always something you can find to snap snap snap at, and so far...I've skipped a few days here and there, but all in all, I've been doing my homework. I also learned a lot. I finally started to understand a bit of what this whole new world is (photography), and how to make it work for me, rather than the other way around.

Jerrid and I hit the abandoned golf course at a resort by our house and got a run in. Of course Jerrid works out a lot harder than me; he actually breaks a sweat while I'm brushing hair out of my eyes from the wind. I quit half way during Jerrid's workout and looked through the duffle bag out of boredom.

I found a stowaway.

My Nikon made its way to the field with us, so i put er' to use.

[Photos taken using the 18-55mm F3.5-5 kit lens; not my new lens. My new lens (70-200mm F2.8 VR G) is just way too big for me to lug around]

Jerrid taking a break.

Does anyone else get tummy aches from Dasani water?
Is it just me?

I'm allergic to these fellas so I'm quite courageous to snap this at 55mm.

They mature and fall off...

MAC Lipstick - Victorian

I picked up one of the lipsticks I've been having my eye on since hearing about the release of the MAC Spring Color Forecast Collection - Victorian.

Victorian is a cool toned pink with gold shimmer. It comes on very creamy and quite opaque.

I have included some comparison swatches between Victorian and two colors which in my mind came closest to Victorian. Now that I think about it...if Rose Romance and Lollipop Loving were to have a baby, it would be Victorian!

Dream Big

Jerrid recently had a photo shoot with world renown photographer Scott Kelby for part two to his best selling book on photography! Jerrid had to wake up extra early and head down to the studio on Miami Beach. Dwayne was also there assisting Scott during the shoot. Jerrid had a great experience with extremely professional and talented people.

Check out www.ScottKelby.com for the blog post about the photo shoot!

Make sure you get the finished project when it comes out if you're interested in the top of the line photography, lighting, and retouching info!

LUSH-ious

Jerrid and I both have become huge addicts of Lush products and rushed back to Lush as soon as we needed a backup of one of our favorite products - Fresh Farmacy calamine facial cleanser (the pink one on the right). This stuff is great...removes all kinds of gunk from your face and the calming calamine helps even skin tone.

While at Lush I also grabbed Coal Face facial cleanser. They claim that Coal Face is for blackheads and oily skin, and Fresh Farmacy works well for white heads and dry skin, but I have oily skin on some days, and dry skin on other days...I got both. Coal Face is cool, it comes out as a soft exfoliator as well after you lather it up a bit before application. It leaves skin feeling fresh, dry, exfoliated, smooth, and ready for moisturizing!

We opted for the smaller size portions this time. This is another reason why Lush is such a great place to haul from...you could get so much for a small amount of money. You have the choice between sizes, which gives you a variety of price selection, so if you're not willing to spend a lot, you can still get the item you wish without breaking the bank. It's also great if you just want to test something out.

Have you guys tried these products?
Do you love them?

Lost in a Daydream

Nothing dances upon your skin,
like the touch of natural sunlight.

Feel the warmth glide onto your skin,
sink into your blood,
and flow through your veins.

Live.

Laugh.

Love.

A simple look for this Valentine's Day.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga on the kissers and liquid liner swept across the top lid.

I tossed the camera into Jerrid's hands
and posed in the natural light of the sun.

Playing around and learning...daydreaming on the side.

Fantastic lighting always makes up for lack of equipment...
no matter what you shoot with.

The 4 F's.

FAMILY - FOOD - FUN - & FOTOS

Twin Connection

Jerrid's twin brother, Jerrod, came to visit over the past weekend. These two look nothing like twins...nor do they act in any way similar, but both are fun guys and such sweethearts. You can always expect a good time with both of them. The love they share for one another and the bond they have is so strong.

Jerrod wanted to see everything. Who wouldn't! We did our best to show him a good time, and stuff the best food down his throat. I think he enjoyed his trip here...and probably put on a few pounds...you can't hang with Jerrid and I and not expect to chow down.

I think its hilarious when people who have never seen a palm tree constantly ask if those things are real! Yes, they are real trees...they're funky, but jeez, so fascinating to tourists. Jerrid finally got over his palm tree shock, and we had to go through the whole thing again with his brother. Besides that...he's never been to the beach.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. I'm sure I left some out...and they don't exactly go in a specific order, but they'll do. We took Jerrod to South Beach, the Hard Rock, Fort Lauderdale Beach, City Place in Palm Beach...literally all over.

Sitting at Rafael's on Lincoln Rd. waiting for my food.

Ahi Tuna

Most of my pieces are missing from the photo...they were long gone before I could ship the camera out. Besides for the bland rice...this meal was a mouth watering one...the tuna was on point, and none of that blood taste that some seared tunas could have. Just yums, and a great sauce along with it.

Flank Steak & Fries

Looked a lot bigger in person...was an alright steak.

Rafael's was alright. Dwayne took Jerrid and I there a few days before and we ordered from the pasta menu...but this time we ended up wanting other things. Overall the food is good but the prices are a bit steep for the portions. We had a good time and good conversation so it was all worth it.

Street art.

Everyone's got their hustle on South Beach, especially the artsy fellas. We saw a homeless guy selling palm stalks made into animals and insects to the tee. He had a palm stalk grasshopper sitting next to him...we thought it was real. Just incredible.

This guy was doing spray paint art. He was amazing and could finish a piece in under 10 minutes for $10.

Some more pics from the B-Day celebration. It never ends. Jerrid's birthday was all out.

Shopping Haul

I gave in. The cold made me do it.

I got Uggs...not just one pair...but two pairs.

I loved these. They're not the traditional type of Uggs, but a sturdier suede style with zippers! I dunno why so many people knock on Uggs, they need to put these on their feet and feel the heavenly softness before they talk all that crap. Uggs are so comfy and make my feet feel so toasty even when it's chilly outside.

I stopped by the Ulta on South Beach and saw the Napoleon Perdis display and couldn't resist the cutest shade of baby pink lipgloss...very similar to NARS Turkish Delight but more solid of a color, not as sheer as TD. This lipgloss came in a package with a mathching nail polish...the shades both "French Pink" from the Chandelier Shine line. The lipgloss applicator is a brush, not a doe foot applicator like the NARS gloss has, but the gloss is a thicker consistency, works better with this brush.

Jerrid's brother arrived home safely...and I know I will come up with more pics from his trip down here.
