About Face Cosmetics

I have gotten a lot of e-mails asking about the eye shadow pigment samples I bought and what colors I got. I was also asked to take some pictures of swatches.

The eye shadow pigment samples I bought were 50 cents each from About Face Cosmetics at www.theshespace.com. I found out about these pigments from my girl Kendall. She posted about them on her blog.

I bought 6 different sample colors; 4 of which are very bright and vibrant colors that I would not usually go for; bright pink, purple, green, and very vibrant blue, and 2 colors that I'm very familiar with in my makeup arsenal - a very pale non-shimmery gold, and a silver pigment. I used the purple shade - "Can't Hide From Karma" in my Deep Purple Smokey Eye LOTD post both wet and dry for more range of color.

The samples are sent in little zip top bags and they are said to last you through 5 applications, but I doubt that you will go through it that fast. For my purple smokey eye look I literally used the powder and residue that was on the sides of the baggy and never touched my brush to the accumulated pigment at the bottom of the bag. It was enough to get a very deep and vibrant color.

I will be doing more LOTDs' with these pigments and experimenting with new colors. I ordered 6 more colors just today! I can't wait to try them out.

The full sized pigments are very affordable at around $4.50 and come in 3 gram jars. I will be buying some in the near future, until then I will be having all the fun with the samples. I feel no guilt at all buying as many of those as I please!
